Laser-Cutter Machines

A provider of laser-cutter machines for an international textiles industry market required a real-time control system with a touch-screen graphical user interface for the machine operators. The system was developed and implemented using C/C++ with the QNX (Quick Unix) operating system running on a PC containing a motion-controller card. The software included a driver for PIC to PIC (Programmable Interrupt Controller chip) communications with the motion-controller card. The graphical user interface component was implemented using
C-based Photon windows - proprietary to the QNX operating system.
