The customer requires Visual Basic and ActiveX expertise to provide reliable Windows-based interfaces for their clients to use as pipeline operator trainer and evaluation systems. The system uses VB programs with ActiveX controls to link and interact with a third party pipeline simulation application. Each client required custom forms/windows and additionally, the following ActiveX components were developed and implemented:

• A component tracking memory usage to trouble-shoot startup and performance issues.
• Light-weight control valves and check valves fully configurable at design time for background, open, closed, in-sequence open, and in-sequence closed colors; size, vertical/horizontal orientation, and valve type to list a few properties.

The client required the development of a demo application composed of Microsoft C++ RPC client/server programs and VB-based signature tablet software for the purpose of merging remote digitized signatures onto a digitized form on a central server.
